The episode opens with Sheldon still reeling from the move to East Texas Tech (yes, college at 11 years old). The title gives it away: there’s a panda. But not just any panda—this is a university mascot/university-related crisis. The episode is sweet , but it feels like a filler. Compared to S04E09 (“The Move”), this one treads water. Also, the panda CGI is… rough. Even on PDVD, you can’t polish a blurry green-screen panda.

On streaming (HBO Max/Netflix), this episode is crisp. But the ? Let’s just say the colors pop better during the campus scenes, and the audio mix doesn’t bury the laugh track (yes, Young Sheldon has a light live audience track). If you’re a physical media purist, the PDVD is the way to go.
