Charlie stands with the other Golden Ticket winners. As Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, and Mike Teavee push forward, Charlie hangs back—and notices a small, unmarked, unlocked door behind a chocolate waterfall pipe.
He turns the ticket over. On the back, there’s a tiny hand-scribbled note in glittering purple ink:
