This subplot sets up the longer arc of Jackson learning to stand up to Stanton. The three plots converge at the port warehouse. Nolan and Harper’s undercover op is compromised, Lopez and Wesley arrive to arrest the kingpin, and Jackson – having finally found his voice – radios for backup when Stanton tries to ignore a fleeing suspect. In this episode, Stanton stops a Black teenager for jaywalking and escalates to a full search without cause. Jackson objects quietly but does nothing – and hates himself for it later.
