The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Two blessings which many people squander: health and free time” (Bukhari). So do not wait until you lose something to appreciate it. Say Alhamdulillah now — for everything.
Gratitude also means using our blessings to help others. If Allah gave you wealth, give charity. If He gave you knowledge, teach. If He gave you strength, help the weak. If He gave you a tongue, speak the truth and defend the oppressed. short jummah khutbah
Innallaha wa malaa’ikatahu yusalluna ‘alan nabiyy. Ya ayyuhal ladheena amanu sallu ‘alayhi wa sallimu taslima. (O you who believe, send blessings upon the Prophet.) The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
Think about the blessings we often ignore: health, sight, hearing, food, water, faith, family, and the ability to pray. Even the air we breathe is a mercy. How many people wake up unable to walk, yet we walk without thinking? How many wish for one more day to repent, yet we waste hours? Gratitude also means using our blessings to help others
Let us begin by reminding ourselves to have taqwa — consciousness of Allah. Today, I want to reflect with you on two short but powerful words: Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah).
And the greatest way to show thanks is through prayer. Allah says: “Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing” (Qur’an 29:45). Our Jummah prayer itself is an act of gratitude — leaving work, gathering together, and standing before Allah.
Aqeemus salah — establish the prayer. Total reading time: Approximately 4–5 minutes. Note: In a real Jummah setting, the khateeb should recite a short Qur’anic verse or dua aloud after the first khutbah before sitting, and then lead the two rak’ahs of Jummah prayer.
