Party Down keeps proving it’s the most painfully accurate depiction of service industry purgatory. Episode 6 uses a single location (a fancy home) to trap our favorite failing actors, writers, and dreamers in a pressure cooker of ex-lovers, bad decisions, and passive-aggressive wine pouring. The R5 copy floating around has that bootleg, worn-DVD feel — weirdly fitting for a show about people who can’t catch a break.
