The h264 encode really shines here during the nighttime standoff. The dark gradients in the forest, the flicker of the torches, and the texture of the Native American war paint are rendered without the "blocky" artifacts you’d get in a lower-bitrate stream. You see every bead of sweat on Jamie’s forehead as he tries to broker a peace that nobody wants.

The result is tragic and inevitable. The Mohawk kill the family, but leave the homestead to Jamie as a sign of respect. It’s a brutal transaction of honor. Across the ocean (and the timeline), Sophie Skelton delivers her best performance of the season so far.
