While Microsoft has moved on to .NET 8, 9, and beyond, legacy enterprise apps, classic games, and specialized medical/industrial software still depend on .NET 2.0. The problem? Microsoft’s official download page for .NET 2.0 now automatically redirects to the latest .NET 8 runtime.
