At first, I thought it was a sprite flicker due to bad soldering. But it’s too deliberate. When your health drops below 30%, the screen border literally turns blood red and pulses. It induces actual anxiety.

I ran a spectrogram analysis on my capture footage. It formed a waveform that looked suspiciously like a topographical map of the developer’s hometown. Coincidence? Probably.
